On November 4th, the ILJLC hosted the Idaho State Bar Diversity Section's Love the Law! program for a series of events. Love the Law! is a pipeline program for high school and college students interested in attending law school and pursuing a career as a legal professional. Over 70 students attended from high schools in Boise, Nampa, and Caldwell. Associate Dean Lee Dillion welcomed students to the ILJLC. UI Law Professor Wendy Couture led the students in a mock law school class examining the first amendment right of free speech as defined in the milestone U.S. Supreme Court case of Tinker v. Des Moines. UI Law Professor Shaakirrah Sanders engaged in a discussion on the topic of marijuana legalization with Concordia Law School Professor Chad DeVeaux, moderated by Concordia Law Professor Jessica Berch. The event concluded with a law student Q&A panel composed of students from both the UI College of Law (Cody Earl and Anja Rodriguez) and Concordia Law School, moderated by UI Law Librarian Michael Greenlee.
