On March 30, 2017, Professor Stephen R. Miller was the guest speaker at the Spring Convening of the Civic Analytics Network (CAN), a program of the Harvard Kennedy School's Ash Center.  CAN is comprised of the chief data officers of the largest American cities and operates programs in partnership with the Ash Center.  Prof. Miller gave a talk surveying how major American cities are both regulating, and partnering with, emerging platform-based sharing economy companies, such as AirBNB and Uber.  Professor Miller was one of several guest speakers at the convening, the other two being Massachusetts Governor Martin O'Malley and Rayid Ghani, Director & Senior Fellow of the University of Chicago's Center for Data Science and Public Policy.
