On Monday, May 16, 2016, the University of Idaho co-sponsored a severe mental illness (SMI) conference with the American Bar Association (ABA) at the Idaho Water Center in Boise. This conference focused on SMI and the Death Penalty. Speakers included Aurelie Tabuteau Mangels, ABA Mental Illness Initiative Fellow; Dr. Camille LaCrois, MD, Forensic Psychiatry Services of Idaho; Deborah Czuba, Assistant Federal Public Defender; Kris Parks, Disability Rights North Carolina, ACLU of North Carolina; and Associate Professor Shaakirrah R.
