I am from a very small town named Granger in the lower Yakima Valley of Washington. I did my undergrad at the University of Washington. I am the oldest of three children, my brother who is currently a fellow Husky and a little sister in who is in middle school. I am a part of my family’s first generation in the United States. This has been my biggest motivator throughout my education. My parents have worked hard all their lives and continue to work hard today. They have always stressed the importance of an education and have done everything in their power to make sure we continue to pursue a career. I have had an interest in law from a very young age so law school was the next practical step. I am interested in international law but the summer after my 1L year I did an externship with the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project back home and found that very rewarding. I hope to do some sort of public service law in the future where I can use Spanish and my experiences to help those who may struggle to gain access to legal services.
